Sr. Software Engineer

Precision Fermentation is a fast-growing startup company providing advanced monitoring services to craft brewers, yeast manufacturers, cideries, seltzer manufacturers, and others to improve quality and production efficiency. We accomplish this with our innovative SaaS / IoT platform that includes advanced sensing, data collection, analysis, and visualization of a wide variety of fluid characteristics.

As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will be a member of the Product Development team responsible for expanding and improving the architecture, CI/CD pipeline, and feature capabilities of our platform. You will help define and execute our strategy to both leverage best-of-breed components and do custom development to deliver an exceptional user experience.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Chief Development Officer
  • Work with the CDO, sales, and customer success teams to define requirements for upcoming software releases
  • Lead ongoing efforts to continue to enhance our software architecture.
  • Establish and develop tooling to ensure compliance with software development best practices
  • Manage the cloud deployment landscape and the tooling for deploying upgrades, monitoring performance, and identifying issues

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • At least 7 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years of experience as a team lead
  • Demonstrated experience and capability for managing pull requests and deploying moderately complex applications
  • Experience developing, deploying, and monitoring continuous integration / continuous deployment pipelines is a plus
  • Strong understanding of networking, common Web technologies, and HTML user interface technologies is highly desired

Customer Advocate

Reports to Customer Success. As a Customer Advocate, you will be a member of the Customer Success team. Customer Success is responsible for the entire customer experience, from pre-sales through onboarding and account management, to retention. The Customer Advocate job may have a variety of shifts and incorporate numerous systems including a call center environment or face to face interaction.

National Account Executive

Location: Remote – Western US

This is a hybrid role of new business development and account management selling to commercial breweries across the globe. The ideal candidate will have experience in a start-up environment selling products and/or services to small and medium sized businesses.  Familiarity with the brewing processes is a plus, but not a requirement.

As a National Account Executive your job is to identify, qualify and close sales opportunities. A hunter. You will therefore be dealing with people at all levels within an organization: from brewers to quality control personnel to heads of operations.  To excel in this role you must be disciplined, focused on results, able to prioritize opportunities, and operate with a high level of efficiency and business ethics.

The National Account Executive is primarily responsible for driving profitable sales growth in an assigned territory while meeting or exceeding sales goals. Activities include learning and staying informed about the brewing industry at large; following a comprehensive sales process; establishing, updating and managing pipeline information for targeted accounts; managing time and resources effectively; representing Precision Fermentation within the industry and territory; and contributing to sales planning and forecasting activities.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Creating and implementing a sales strategy to drive revenue
  • Develop new leads via cold calling, networking, etc.
  • Maintain and grow existing customer business to meet monthly and annual sales goals by contacting or meeting with existing clients

Business Development Representative

We are looking for a sales associate assist a team of National Account Executives (NAE) with lead generation, qualification, administration, service and order processing. Sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails. Understanding customer needs and requirements. Routing qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure.


  • Work with each NAE toward creation of a workflow ensuring maximum production and efficiency

Head of Account Management

Location: Raleigh Durham or Atlanta preferred. Other/remote locations considered.

The Head of Account Management will be responsible for Precision Fermentation’s customer relationships from initial contract through end of life. The AM team will be responsible for all customer relationships, and the success of their collective efforts will largely determine how long a customer is a customer. This role will coordinate the customer onboarding and rollout, managing customer relationships through day-to-day contact and maintaining a heavy focus on achieving a) full deployment of Precision Fermentation solutions with each customer to support revenue growth and b) customer delight to ensure durable customer relationships, low/zero churn and infinite customer life.

This is a key leadership position that will start as a team of one and build the team to scale with current customer growth - must be able to act as player/coach as the team is built out.

Primary Focus:

Provide our customers with a single point of contact for (most) everything. A SPOC is smoother and less confusing for the customer. Help build confidence and trust with our clients: A good account manager will build strong relationships that increase customer loyalty.

  • Onboarding: Our account manager will be the face of Precision Fermentation to the customer and will guide our customers through the deployment of BrewMonitor solutions, hardware, and software.
  • Education to encourage full and rapid adoption: Educate the customer based on best practices to use the BrewMonitor System, given their internal processes – i.e. help customers shape their use of BrewMonitor to be compatible with their requirements. AMs will also share knowledge and help customers develop their businesses – an important part of building a long-lasting relationship.
  • Share customer learnings: Bring Precision Fermentation internal staff up to speed on how customers are using BrewMonitor in order to aid in the creation and evolution of best practices/content to share with other customers
  • Retain at-risk customers: Account managers are negotiators when necessary, bringing at-risk customers back into the fold. The value of this role, compounded across an entire team, brings immense value to our company.
  • Quickly. Quickly route billing, fulfillment, technical and product issues to the right place. Leverage excellent customer service skills to quickly diagnose customer issues and route them accordingly.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Be the right hand to CRO and own all customer relationships.
  • Manage all customer relationships. Ensure smooth onboarding and rollout within customers operations and educate customers. Increase utilization by understanding and helping customers achieve objectives. Drive customer account growth through additional BrewMonitor sales to achieve revenue and customer retention targets.
  • Build the framework for distributing and managing a set of customers across your team to ensure excellent coverage, account growth and zero churn.
  • Be the quarterback for the customer relationship. Understand the customer needs, requests, issues and quickly solve them, or route to the appropriate team member to ensure timely resolution
  • Understand and document the customer in CRM. Learn who’s who and their respective roles, capture key metadata related to their infrastructure and operations (equipment, process, beverage types, etc), understand their business requirements/goals, and document appropriately.
  • Perform analysis of customer operations by tracking campaign performance and network trends; use problem-solving and analytical skills to determine the most effective means of increasing ROI.
  • Build seriously GREAT customer relationships. Get to know our customers and build trust, leveraging knowledge of their operations and our product to establish yourself as a “go to” resource.
  • Assist the sales team in closing new accounts by participating in the sales process in anticipation of contract signing, to ensure smooth transition from prospect to customer.


  • Learn our product inside and out. Account managers must gain strong product knowledge. AMs must be able to efficiently demonstrate all aspects of the BrewMonitor System to the customer and map that to customer’s current processes. It is the AM’s responsibility to ensure that the customer gets full value out of the product.
  • Analytical ability is required to understand our customers' brewing workflow in order to help them gain maximum value from the product.
  • Good process skills and detail orientation. Managing the onboarding/implementation will set the right expectations for our customers. With project management knowledge, AMs will know how each project should be adapted.
  • Be technically astute. AMs must know when to route to support, engineering, etc., AND supply good directional input on bug fixes and feature requests.
  • Be ROI minded. AMs must live and breathe the ROI that BrewMonitor supplies to our customers. This will help align the value of customers’ feature requests with the value of development projects and help Precision Fermentation make the best decisions possible.

Marketing Production Manager

The Marketing Production Manager ensures the timely and expert deployment of marketing assets for web, email marketing, drip campaigns, external media programs, print and event production. It is a combination of graphic design, web development, and print management. The ideal candidate will be a fast producer with strong design experience, high attention to detail, and a solid background in managing marketing assets and technologies.


  • Supports marketing programs in all areas associated with the development and implementation of Precision Fermentation’s marketing strategies and budgets through creative production
  • Deploys successful marketing campaigns and owns their implementation from ideation through review and execution, overseeing all asset creation, management, and distribution for maximum impact and reach
  • Develops creative briefs and design concepts to meet marketing objectives
  • Designs graphics, web pages, HTML emails, sales email templates, advertisements, social media, printed collateral, and event graphics
  • Iterates designs as necessary to gain approval by stakeholders in marketing, product, support, and/or sales, depending on the project
  • Manages the corporate website, including updates, expansions and redesigns, as well as ensuring deployment of best practices for SEO and interaction with other systems and platforms (e.g. marketing automation, CRM and social media), plus impeccable maintenance of landing pages and forms that provide leads to the sales funnel
  • Analyzes and optimizes website for increased traffic and lead conversions

In-House Service Technician

As a Service Technician, you will evaluate, assemble, repair, and maintain both electronic and fluidic components in our BrewMonitor System. This includes diagnosis and performing testing for the purposes of quality assurance, reliability, safety inspection, regulatory adherence, environmental impact and/or sample testing. Ability to process detailed documentation is a must.


  • Replacing / repairing components to return devices to service
  • Documenting product and component failures for internal and supplier engineering
  • Refurbishing and cleaning devices returned from customers

  • Performing bench testing of potential alternative supplier components
